Upload Probes

Once you have chosen Upload probes from the CGH probegroup wizard: Add Content step, you will be directed to the following Upload Probes screen.

Use this method to upload your own probes. This includes probes designed with your own algorithms, or designed for a species that SureDesign does not support. In addition, use this method for probes you have downloaded from an existing custom or catalog design or probegroup and edited. The file must be a tab-delimited text file (*.txt format) in a 2-column or 6-column configuration, compressed into a *.zip format. Click here for further information on the file format requirements.

Complete the fields and selections in this step to designate the file you want to upload and set some of the parameters for the probes.

To upload your probe:

  1. In the Probegroup Details box, click Browse to navigate to and select your probe file (in *.zip format). Alternatively, if you know the file path for the file, you can type it directly into the File Name field. Click the 2-Column and 6-Column links to view examples of acceptable probe formats.

  2. Specify how to handle a probe in your uploaded file with the same probe ID as an existing probe. Choose Reuse Existing to and add the existing probe to your design, or Overwrite to overwrite the existing probe with the annotation information from the uploaded file, including the genomic coordinates, without overwriting the probe sequence. This option is useful if you want to update the annotation information on your existing probes.

  3. Click Next to submit your file. A message box opens indicating the e-mail address where Agilent will contact you when SureDesign has finished uploading your probes. If desired, you can enter additional e-mail addresses into the provided field in the message box.

  4. Click OK in the message box to submit the file.
SureDesign begins the process of uploading your probes. The program first scans the Probe Upload file for formatting errors. If it detects a formatting error, SureDesign notifies you by e-mail. If it does not detect any formatting errors, SureDesign uploads the probes into your SureDesign account.

  5. The wizard takes you to the Finalize step. Click Close to close the wizard.

You will receive an e-mail from Agilent SureDesign when the upload process is complete.
